If you are fed up with the lies served up by the big food industries, you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to watch this potentially life saving documentary film. Forks Over Knives delivers the results of years of scientific research about our nutrition and the western diet. Most significant for me was the epic Chinese investigation plotting an “atlas of cancer” and cardiovascular disease. They pretty much can determine a relation between the foods and types of cancer produced in specific counties in China. Forks Over Knives is a no-nonsense attempt by American physician Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and professor of nutritional biochemistry T. Colin Campbell, to reverse the unhealthy course of humanity. They are experts suggesting the best fuel for our bodies to run on.

The documentary exposes the decisions of the National Academy of Sciences, funded and influenced by corporate interests, they determine scientific policies which can make or break studies, revealing sometimes skewed results which the food corporations want you to hear. I liked how they showed several cases of diabetes and high cholesterol, after undergoing nutritional counseling and dietary rehabilitation, the patients underwent a “life-saving experience” improving their health and quality of life. “Let food be your medicine” said Hippocrates, considered by many as the father of modern medicine.

A life saver, this fast-paced documentary flows with essential disease preventing information, no boring moments. Kudos to these scientists for dedicating their lives to uncovering the truth and having the courage to stand up and make this movie. They’ve made eating a plant based diet, smart and cool. As the vegan firefighter said while CLIMBING UP the pole: “Real men eat plants”…

Don’t read the following during or after eating… You may be eating HUMAN HAIR in your BAKERY PRODUCTS. L-cystine is used as a dough conditioner, flavor enhancer in food. L-cysteine is produced from a fermentation process involving human hair, chicken feathers, cow horn, synthetic materials and petroleum based derivatives. The most common source was human hair found on the floors of Chinese barbershops, according to Jeanne Yacoubou, MS. (Research Editor, The Vegetarian Resource Group). <Read her article here.> L-cystein is used in bakery products like Croissants, Cake Donuts, Bagels, Pita Bread and others read article… Vegetarian groups have been contacting companies and asking them about their sources, some have already begone to use the synthetic (not human or animal) version of L-cysteine.

I hope we become more aware of commercial and industrial waste products being put into our food and demand they stop fooling us. If not checked, companies will try anything to save on product costs. Anyone remember the movie “Soylent Green“?

A recent U.N. (United Nations) report described how the livestock industry’s misuse of resources makes it the NUMBER ONE CAUSE of GLOBAL WARMING. Not only this, but it is one of the top ten items on the list of problems contributing to world hunger. The amount of grains needed to produce a pound of meat greatly outweighs the end product, it is an expensive product destined to a small percentage of the world’s population.

Here’s an intelligent look at the situation by Professor Donna Quesada, this first part of the video has a quote from Paul MacCartney and his views on the vegetarian lifestyle.

Fact: According to The United Nations, raising animals for food causes more greenhouse emissions than all the cars, planes, ships and trains in the world.

The meat industry generates billions of pounds of drug-laced feces every year. This toxic waste frequently makes it’s way to our waterways, causing serious environmental impact with deadly consequences to millions of fish.

The end does not justify the means: It can take up to 16 POUNDS of grain to produce just ONE POUND of meat. The demand to grow so much grain to feed farmed animals causes millions of acres of native habitat (like rain forests) to be destroyed and replaced with a single crop. Now you can make a difference by signing peta2′s petition asking to label meat with a clear warning that meat is the number one cause of global warming.
