After living in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, México for ten years (1991-2001) and seeing the urgency for sustainable development in ecologically sensitive areas like Baja, I have still not given up on the idea of building my own earthship and pursuing the almost utopian dream of disconnecting myself from “the grid.”
I just found out that an old friend still living in Los Cabos is zealously working towards providing solar powered products and ecological home alternatives (solar plants, solar cookers and home desalination plants). I am excited to get back into the solar path, I’ve been asked to cover the upcoming “Solar Power International ’08” Conference in San Diego (Oct. 13-16, 2008).
