I remember looking for information on the true origins of India’s Taj Mahal, and the controversy over what some claim to be the lost White Temple of Lord Shiva “Tejo Mahalaya.” This story contradicts modern history’s version which claims that is was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. (“History is written by the winners” but does that make it true?).

In my search I was lead to a page called “Taj Mahal: Was it a Vedic Temple?
The Photographic Evidence,”
and somehow I cannot dismiss his arguments, Take a look and decide for yourself.

Stephen Knapp, is an author and mystic with interests in Vedic archeology and evidence supporting the reality of many other so called Hindu myths. I have explored his website for many years and still find it one of the most insightful and informative, I highly recommend it.

One of the things I like most about creating music in Ableton Live is it’s dual mode interface. Being able to quickly lay down a palette of musical ideas as clips or loops in “Session View” mode, allowing me to mix & match sound clips, triggering them in a non-linear fashion. These clips are the foundation for the song. Once I am ready, I can record my session into the “Arrangement View,” the linear tracks view that most of us are familiar with in DAWs. Here is straightforward video by Dennis DeSantis, demonstrating this simple process of creating music with Ableton Live. I will be posting more videos on elastic audio and other innovative features found in Ableton Live.

Just posting this 3-part video interview by MacAddict (2002) of BT so I’ll have them all on one post. It is a cool insight into how organic electronic musician BT (Brian Transeau) works in his studio, using his Mac and audio software such as Apple Logic and Propellerhead Reason. He mentions that he uses Steinberg Time Bandit for time stretching vocals to fit particular beats.

“Ancient Aliens” is an interesting documentary from a History Channel, about ancient cultures and their stories about divine or super beings. A remarkable note is that scientists found modern evidence of nuclear blasts which took place thousands of years ago, for example, the stories of the battle of Kurukshetra describe the Brahmastra weapon in the ancient texts of The Mahabharata.

I did notice an error when they mention Lord Rama instead of Lord Krishna as the main hero described in the epic book The Mahabharata. Lord Rama was described in the Ramayana which was written before Mahabharata. Amazing how the History Channel makes a mistake on such a commonly known fact, at least amongst Indologists and global historians, makes me think what else they overlook or don’t research properly.

Mahachakra (Great Disc) is the name housing music projects started 2003. These songs and electronic music experiments where made possible using the audio program called Propellerheads Reason. I call it an my virtual “old school” electronic music studio, and ideal environment for developing and writing musical ideas.

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada arrived in New York in 1865 following the request of his spiritual master to propagate Gaudiya Vaishnavism philosophy in the west. His early contact with the hippies in New York sparked interest in this ancient spiritual tradition and started the movement known as the “Hare Krishna Movement” or ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). Srila Prabhupada continued his prolific translation work up until his earthly departure in 1977, leaving us a treasure of Vedic scriptures (originally written in Sanskrit or Bengali), most of these translations had been previously unavailable in the west.

Although the ISKCON movement suffered early attacks by anti-cult groups, several court cases involving corrupt members and in recent years have faced internal power struggles, Srila Prabhupada’s book translations and commentaries have been well received and praised by university scholars all over the world. His mission of translating and publishing classics like Bhagavad Gita (Song of God), Srimad Bhagavatam, Chaitanya Caritamrita, Nectar of Devotion and more than 80 books is a complete success.
