Since my entry into the virtual community of Second Life (TM) in February of 2007, I have met some very interesting people, one of these friends went on to explore the OSGrid - The Open Metaverse and has set up about 13 sims under the name of “Cyberbohemia” which include several art galleries. I started the Dreamrezzer group in Second Life (TM) as a project for manifesting (rezzing) ideas and dreams in the 3D metaverse. These Dreamrezzers on OSGrid have been true to the name creating fantastic area to visit and explore. Learn more about this project at the Dreamrezzer’s Blog. The video below is a first attempt at MACHINIMA process, using my MAHACHAKRA music as the soundtrack.

I found this interview with Philip Rosedale, founder of Linden Lab and the creator of Second Life™ 3D virtual world. He is asked about the most unusual thing he’s seen in Second Life™, which happened to be a UFO hovering welcome areas. He also comments on making it easier for new users to get their feet wet with the SL experience, integration with other technological platforms and future applications being developed for Second Life™.

I’ve been thinking about whether to invest more serious time in Second Life® virtual world as a potential source on income.  I do love creating things and exploring other designers works.   But, coming up with the monthly land tier payment is stressful when your trying to be imaginative, and of course, running a successful virtual store is a entirely different ball game.   I do think, however, that focusing on creating quality products and a decent inventory during any of my “artistic & recreational” time, could eventually lead to creative financial independence.
