I found this interview with Philip Rosedale, founder of Linden Lab and the creator of Second Life™ 3D virtual world. He is asked about the most unusual thing he’s seen in Second Life™, which happened to be a UFO hovering welcome areas. He also comments on making it easier for new users to get their feet wet with the SL experience, integration with other technological platforms and future applications being developed for Second Life™.
Dr. David Suzuki speaks on education for a changing biosphere. He says “whatever we do to the earth, we do to ourselves.” This is a must see video on how we are educating young people about our environment and how we are dealing with fundamental needs like clean air, clean water, clean soil, clean energy. I hope you can take the time to listen to his insights and proposals to awaken our awareness of ourselves and our planet.
Some of us have heard about the huge amount of garbage collecting in the the Pacific Ocean about 1,000 miles off the California coastline, but I think this fact has somehow not made an impact, this garbage is not “just floating on top” of the ocean’s surface, it is becoming part of the ocean’s waters and all marine life, eventually being ingested by predators feeding off the marine life. Plastic molecules and toxins are being found in the tissues of ocean fish which are starting to contaminate humans eating those fish. Maybe it’s time we took this into consideration.
